One of the few Australian natives.

Great curcuma.  Stripe in leaf and flower glow in purple.  This curcuma appears to stand taller than most, and its bloom is easily visible.   4-5 feet

This is one of the most dependable of all the curcuma.  While it is an old favorite, it is very cold hardy and great bloomer!  The bloom ,"hidden" within the green leaves,  gives this whitish pink beauty its name.

Maroon stripe down the center of the leaf with matching bloom.  Stands very upright.  4 to 5 feet.

Curcuma zedoaria "Zedoary"

One of the first signs of spring!  The maroon tips in the flower match the stripe in the green leaf.  Yellow flowers are at the bottom while pink to maroon are at the top.  Known as white tumeric, this ginger is from India.

Curcumas are known as hidden gingers because their plume-like bloom appears between the rich banana shaped leaves.   Even though curcumas go dormant in the winter, they are vigorous growers, going from no visible growth to 4 or 5 feet by midsummer.  The heights range from one foot to seven feet.  Curcumas love shade and curl their leaves if they get too much sun.  Zones 8-10.

Beautiful spring bloomer.  Huge blooms before the foliage.  Great speciman plant  Grows 5-6 feet with

large banana like leaves.
