Kaempferias are a group of low growing, highly patterned givers called "peacock gingers". These make great groundcover for shade gardens and than go dormant in the winter. Planted along flagstone walks, their patterned leaves and unusual colors provide an eye-catching scene. Most reach a maximum of 12 inches in height but rotunda and grande can be two feet easily. Kaempferis prefer shade. Many new varieties are being discovered. Watch for additions to this group. For shady areas where nothing will grow, this will work!
We have many kaempferia not listed on our website, so if you need a special one, don't hesitate to ask.
