Kirkii- This African beauty blooms on a separate bloom stalk with yellow center.  Rich green, ribbed leaves frame the  ruffled blooms.
Decora-  Take the pink away from
Kirkii and substitute vibrant yellow
flowers and you have Decora.

Siphonochilus gingers are from Africa.  They have deep green ribbed leaves.  Flowers appear on a separate bloom stalk which continues to bloom until all bloom heads are completed.  They bloom in early summer about a month after foliage appears.  Light shade with some sun is best.  Most grow to be 15-18 inches.  Zone 9
